Turning the Corner At the end of September the foliage along the back
roads of Harlan County Reservoir is in full fall color
and flocks of migrating waterfowl are arriving at the
lake. Some will stay the winter, feeding in the grain
fields, while others rest for a few days and continue
their journey south.

taken on a different character and sense of depth,
the bare fields and early fall colors in shelterbelts
and around farmsteads helping to accent the gentle
